B&B Closed for 2024
I'm very sorry but we have decided to close the B&B for 2024.
We will take the decision to on whether this is a permanent thing towards the end of next year.
the Gallery B&B
Relax and unwind in the peace and quiet of the Esk Valley - a stone’s throw from Grosmont Railway Station, home of the North York Moors Steam Railway. The NYMR is where the steam and diesel trains run to Pickering and also to the seaside town Whitby, renowned for its connection with Captain Cook, Bram Stoker and Whitby Jet. Wainwright’s Coast to Coast walk passes through the village, just past our door, making it the perfect place to stay before ending in Robin Hood’s Bay. As well as being the perfect accommodation for walkers, we also provide an ideal stay for the Pullman steam train diners as we are just a 2-minute walk from the train station.
Grosmont and the Esk Valley is an excellent place to cycle, fish or just walk around with many bridleways and footpaths including the Esk Valley Walk.
The Gallery B&B is a 5 bedroomed guest house situated directly above The Geall Gallery, in Grosmont. We serve a cooked breakfast from 7 am to 9.30 am using fresh and locally sourced produce, your breakfast is prepared in front of you which also includes a selection of cereal, fresh berries and yoghurt. Hot beverages include fresh coffee and a variety of teas.
Breakfast is served in the large spacious lounge/kitchen area which has a communal seating area leading to a balcony which overlooks the Murk Esk (a river which joins the Esk).

We have 5 letting rooms all very individual, adorned with Chris Geall’s large oil paintings.
King-sized and twin rooms are charged £115/per night. Single occupancy is charged at £95/night.
Lease Rigg
A large super king ensuite bedroom that can also be changed to a twin room.
A stunning room with a purple feature wall, 3 large oil paintings, a seating area, hot beverage-making facilities, wide screen TB and a large bathroom with bath and power shower. This room has views overlooking the steam trains crossing the bridge.
Fairhead
A large super king ensuite bedroom which can also be changed to a twin room.
This duck egg-coloured room overlooks the Esk valley railway. It contains three large paintings by Chris Geall and has a comfortable seating area, hot beverage-making facilities and wide-screen TV. This room also has a large double walk-in power shower.
Murk Esk
A large super king ensuite bedroom which can also be changed to a twin room.
This is a large bedroom, overlooking the Murk Esk, with a comfortable seating area, three large oil paintings by Chris Geall, hot beverage-making facilities, wide-screen TV and a large double walk-in power shower.
Lamplands
A large king-size ensuite bedroom in the attic - a stunning room with a roll-top bath.
It features a large oil painting of Buttermere. This room is stunning - it has french chandeliers with a roll-top bath at the end of the bed, hot beverage-making facilities and a wide-screen TV.
Bridestones
A super king bedroom in the attic that can also be a twin. A smaller room but still has room for a sofa.
This attic room is smaller but does have sofa wide screen TV and hot beverage-making facilities. It has an adjoining private bathroom through an adjacent door with a large bath and a power shower over the bath.
